We are talking about handmade work. About paintings that people spent decades on, developing a style of their own. Not from templates, not from what others have already made, but out of themselves. Just imagine it: ten years on the same project, or twenty, or thirty. That is truly remarkable. It is the opposite of what appears at the push of a button when an AI soaks up other people’s images, learns from them and imitates them. Here, someone really created something of their own.
And yet these artists were barely noticed by the market during their lifetimes. They were successful, but not truly successful, and so nobody took an interest. When they die, what remains is a life’s work that no one feels responsible for. Much of it would literally be fit for the trash. A whole artist’s life, simply disappearing.
We push back. The Forgotten Artists brings these people and their work back to life, as originals and as framed art prints. It is not a farewell, but a return. They are coming back, and they will not be forgotten.
